☘️🟢⚪️ U12 SFAI Subway National Trophy ⚪️🟢☘️

Well done to our U12 Shamrocks Celtic FC team who progressed to the last 16 in the SFAI National Trophy after a 2-1 win over Monasterevin AFC in the last 32, in Bellew Park. 

Monasterevin AFC conceded an early penalty at 6 mins when Cillian Farrelly was taken down in the box. Tiernan Ward stood up to take the penalty and showed a lot of composure and put in the bottom left corner to get Shamrocks off to a great start. Monasterevin didn't give up though and brought it back to 1-1 at 19 minutes to leave it level at half time.

12 minutes after half time, it was Shamrocks turn to concede a penalty but Tomás Murphy pulled off a superb save to keep the game level. The lads dug deep against a strong side to come back and take the 2-1 victory through a great assist from Tiernan Ward who slipped Cillian Farrelly through on goal and Cillian slotted it home to get the winning goal.

The lads now proceed to the last 16 in the SFAI National Trophy. Well done, lads and coaches on a fantastic result. ⚪️🟢
